New Energy Alaska
A bipartisan campaign working to harness Alaska’s vast clean energy potential to power our future, strengthen our economy and secure energy independence for generations to come.

Alaska has always been an energy powerhouse. Today, our hydro, wind, geothermal, solar and tidal resources can deliver affordable power to communities, drive innovation, create jobs and provide energy security. With development, these local resources can fuel a global export industry, positioning Alaska as a leader in clean energy and generating new economic opportunities. New Energy Alaska advances this vision—building momentum for common-sense clean energy solutions that strengthen resilience, independence and prosperity. Visit the website here.
Our Work
Driving Forward Opportunities
Even as federal incentives change, opportunities remain. We spotlight clean energy generation, storage and transmission upgrades that are achievable now and support partners advancing them. By focusing on what is possible, we help keep Alaska on the path toward a more resilient and affordable energy system. We also commission and share regular polling to track how public opinion is shifting, ensuring decision-makers see the depth and durability of Alaskan support.
Bolstering Support For Renewables
Alaskans overwhelmingly want a stronger clean energy future. Our statewide polling shows 82% support for building renewable energy infrastructure and 81% support for using state and federal grants to develop it. We ensure this mandate remains visible, elevate trusted bipartisan voices, and frame renewables as a pathway to affordability, jobs, and energy independence.
Unlocking Alaska’s Renewable Potential
Alaska’s renewable resources are among the most powerful in the world. Our wind, hydro, marine, solar, and geothermal capacity could generate the energy equivalent of decades of North Slope oil production. With the right investments, Alaska can not only secure affordable energy at home but also build a thriving export industry in green hydrogen, ammonia and other clean fuels—creating jobs and economic opportunity while strengthening our role as a global energy leader.
Amplifying Success
Across the state, Alaskans are proving that renewables work. From rural microgrids to Railbelt battery storage and community-scale hydro, clean energy is already lowering costs and increasing reliability. We share stories about these successes so policymakers, utilities and investors can see progress in action and replicate it elsewhere.
Why Now
With many federal clean energy incentives curtailed in 2025, stability and momentum on renewables must come from within Alaska. New Energy Alaska is working to see that opportunities are not lost in the shifting political landscape, and we remain committed to ensuring remaining incentives—for geothermal, hydro, storage, and transmission—are fully utilized. Nowhere is the urgency greater than in rural communities, where reliance on imported diesel is costly, polluting and unsustainable. Clean energy is already proving it can lower costs and improve resilience in many communities. The time to act is now to secure energy independence and lasting economic opportunity across Alaska.
