Jessica Miles
Team MemberBiography
Jessica is motivated by a deep commitment to helping Arctic communities and ecosystems thrive. She believes lasting resilience comes from supporting those closest to the land, a perspective that took root during her first trip to the Arctic and has guided her ever since.
As the Wildfire and Community Programs Coordinator, Jessica supports Alaska Venture Fund’s community and ecosystem resilience work by supporting wildfire-related initiatives, coordinating projects, and facilitating collaboration between programs like the Wildfire Resilience Program and the Bristol Bay Sustainable Communities Program.
Her path to Alaska Venture Fund has been shaped by both science and storytelling. Jessica holds a BA in Environmental Studies from the University of Michigan and an MFA in Creative Writing from Chatham University. She has previously worked in communications roles with organizations such as The Nature Conservancy and Nori and co-hosted the sustainability podcast “Who’s Saving the Planet?”
