Community Resilience Through Climate Change – Nalikutaar, Jacqueline Cleveland

“I never want to leave this place where I grew up.”

In this short video, AVF’s Nalikutaar Jacqueline Cleveland shares how strengthening community connections helps her village of Quinhagak adapt to climate change impacts.

Jacki recently co-directed the documentary Ellavut Cimirtuq (Our World Is Changing), which tells the story of Quinhagak’s cultural revival and race to preserve artifacts and their homes in the face of melting permafrost and rising sea levels.
